Soror Jannece Etolia Lawson was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her father is a retired factory worker, and her mother is a retired nurse, both still reside in Indiana. She has three biological siblings and several step siblings. She attended Vincennes University right after high school (C/O 1989). In 1991, she decided to join the Army Reserves. After serving two years in the Reserves, she went on active duty in 1993, and proudly served for an additional 24 years. In 2017, she retired as a First Sergeant. While on active duty, she was certified as a Geospatial Intelligence Analyst, worked in Military Operations, and ended her career as a First Sergeant. Her previous duty assignments included Fort Hood, TX; Camp Humphreys, South Korea; MacDill AFB, FL; Fort McPherson, GA (now Shaw AFB, SC); Pearl Harbor, HI; Fort Huachuca, AZ; Yongsan, South Korea and Fort Belvoir, VA; along with two overseas deployments. She earned an AAS and BS in Management at Wayland Baptist University in April 2007, and a Master’s Degree in Management at the University of Phoenix in 2011. She has a daughter, named Jannelle Elisa and a soon to be 8-year-old granddaughter, named Jeilani Elisha. She also has a fur baby (Chihuahua), named Rita. She joined Kappa Epsilon Psi WTR 2014. Her line is the “7 Magnificent Warriors”, her Soror name is Guardian Angel and her line number is 4 (Qu4d). She has served in several leadership positions since joining KEY, which include, Big Sister, Dean, Chapter Treasurer, Chapter Vice President, Chapter President, and State Director in the Western Region. She credits her time in KEY with helping her to truly learn the real meaning of Sisterhood. She is truly proud to be a member of KEY and loves all her Sorors and the support she has received since joining.
