MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - Local residents and members of the community came together Saturday morning to honor thousands who lost their lives on 9/11.

They did it by setting 3,000 American flags at Forest Hill Funeral Home on Whitten Road.

The group was made up of local residents, members of Boy Scout Troop 27, Girl Scout Troops 13018/13804, Kappa Epsilon Psi, Military Sorority, and Kappa Lambda Chi, Military Fraternity.
They say it was done for the upcoming Never Forget Tribute taking place on Monday, September 11, 2017, which is a commemoration to honor the memory of those lost.

To show support and respect for local First Responders, a banner will also be available for the community to leave notes showing their appreciation.

The Tribute will take place 6:00 p.m. on September 11, 2017 at Forest Hill Funeral Home-East at 2240 Whitten Road.
